Learn Zen Meditation

IMG_4049Our meditation practice is Serene Reflection Meditation, also known as Zazen. We are affiliated with the Order of Buddhist Contemplatives, which is a part of the Soto Zen tradition of Buddhism. The Lancaster group was established in 1980, and has close links with Throssel Hole Buddhist Abbey in Northumberland.

You are warmly invited to come along to the group see if our meditation practice resonates with you.  Our website tells you about our meditation practice, what we do at group meetings, who we are connected with, and group contacts. We meet on Mondays at 7.30pm at the Friends Meeting House in Lancaster, right next door to Lancaster railway station – except for some Bank Holiday Mondays, and between Christmas and New Year..

Our introductory sessions are on the second Mondays of each month. Click on the tab ‘My First Meeting’ for further information. The dates for introductory sessions in 2017 are January 9, February 13, March 13, April 10, May 8, June 12, July 10, August 14, September 11, October 9, November 13, December 11. There is no charge for our meetings, but we invite attenders collectively to support our costs as they wish, through our alms bowl, according to their means.
